Things We Love: Melbourne Design Week 2017

We love any excuse to celebrate design. And the new Melbourne Design Week is no exception.

The ten-day event running from 16-26 March 2017 is a new initiative created by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and the Victorian government and aims to promote Melbourne as one of the design capitals of the world. The event will offer talks, tours, workshops and industry events to help strengthen, support and promote the design industry. 

Victoria’s Minister for Creative Industries, Martin Foley says, “Being a creative state isn’t just about having great arts and cultural events – it’s about applying creative thinking and approaches to all aspects of our society. Design is central to this.”

Modscape is thrilled to be invited to be part of the inaugural event and will be hosting a number of tours of our modular construction hub as part of Open State. Presented by Open House Melbourne, Open State will reveal and celebrate a network of leading Victorian design innovators including commissioners of design, designers, design studios, design researchers, design educators, and manufacturers.
