Melbourne Design Week 2018

  • March 31st, 2018

The Melbourne Design Week 2018 program has done is again. With over 50 tours on offer, Melbournians and visitors alike were able to explore a range of design sectors and design-led organisations that illustrated how design enriches the economy, culture and society of Victoria.

The ten-day event running in March is an initiative created by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and The Victorian Government and aims to promote Melbourne as one of the design capitals of the world. Local and international designers presented a diverse program of over 160+ exhibitions, workshops, talks and tours across Melbourne and Victoria.

Modscape were thrilled to be a part of Open State again and offered a number of tours at our modular construction hub in Brooklyn. Participants were asked about what they enjoyed most in Open State, and they had this to say about our tours:

“Modscape is [a] flourishing company & [it] was interesting to see their streamlined design system. Funky office space”

“Modscape. Great to have the owner take us round. Allowed access to all areas of the premises, really impressive company setup”

“Modscape’s. Excellent intro to their work ethics & philosophy. Plus they were super open to discuss their processes.”

Presented by Open House Melbourne, Open State is a strong feature of Melbourne Design Week. The excellent talks, tours and workshops reveal and celebrate a network of leading Victorian design innovators including commissioners of design, designers, design studios, design researchers, design educators, and manufacturers.

Be sure to visit the NGV website to keep an eye out for next year’s program.

Missed out on the tours or can’t wait until March 2019 to experience good design? The Open House Melbourne weekend will be happening on  28 + 29 July 2018. And Modscape will once again open up our doors. Visit the Open House Melbourne website for further information.
