Modscape was engaged by Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) to deliver full turnkey solutions for the KOSS program – supporting the development of new early childhood infrastructure on existing school campuses. The Thornbury project included site preparation, demolition, outdoor play areas, ancillary facilities and onsite parking—ensuring the kindergarten was ready for immediate occupation and use.
Leveraging Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles, all five modular kindergarten buildings—including Thornbury Kindergarten—were prefabricated in Modscape’s controlled manufacturing facility, allowing construction and site works to proceed in parallel. This streamlined approach reduced overall project timelines, improved quality assurance and significantly minimised disruption to the operational school environments.
With a fast-tracked six-month programme and just 12 weeks of factory build time, the project demonstrates how modular delivery can enable faster, smarter and more sustainable education infrastructure—without compromising on design quality, durability or long-term performance.
