A Taste of Place at Rowlee Winery

At Rowlee Wines, great wine is as much about taste as it is about place and experience.

Thoughtfully designed by Modscape and featured in this month’s Country Style Magazine, the new Rowlee Dining & Bar is an extension of the vineyard’s landscape, built to enhance the guest experience while treading lightly on the environment.

More than just a dining space, Rowlee Dining & Bar is a testament to how modular architecture can enhance both functionality and sustainability. The venue embodies the winery’s ethos—elegant yet understated, contemporary yet deeply connected to the region and environment.

The materials used were carefully selected for their sustainability credentials, and the design prioritises natural ventilation, passive solar gain, and energy-efficient lighting to reduce its environmental footprint.

At the helm of the kitchen is Simon Furley, whose career spans Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK to hatted venues in Queensland. Now leading Rowlee Dining & Bar, he brings a philosophy of seasonality, sustainability, and simplicity to every dish.

This seamless integration between the vineyard, the architecture, and the menu is no coincidence—it’s a carefully considered synergy. From the way the building sits within the landscape to the way the food is plated, every element is designed to enhance the guest’s connection to place. Large glass panels frame the vineyard’s rolling hills, while the refined yet natural interior palette allows the focus to remain on the surroundings.

As sustainability becomes a growing focus in hospitality and construction, Rowlee Dining & Bar stands as a model for what’s possible when thoughtful design meets a deep respect for nature.
