How Modular Can Help In The Urban Housing Crisis

Prefab Homes in NSW by Modscape

There is much debate in the news lately about the effectiveness of extending the Melbourne urban border and creating new suburbs to overcome Melbourne’s housing affordability and availability challenges.

Some of a recent suite of changes to make housing more affordable will see the Government introduce a new tax levied 1 percent on vacant residential property, with the hope of pushing property holders to empty properties rather than pay the tax.

Other changes that hope to ease the pressure will see off-the-plan stamp duty concessions on investment properties to be removed, leaving the concession available to those who intend to live in the property.

“Regardless of the changes a foot we believe a modular home provides a powerful solution for existing home owners who have no desire to leave the home they’re in, juggle stamp duty, or find themselves weekend after weekend at auction.”

Modscape brings a great sigh of relief to discerning home owners seeking a cost and time efficient method of extending that fits in with their busy lifestyle and their aesthetic. Our modular homes are designed by our in-house design team or an external architect of their choosing so our clients receive a design led outcome that reflects their unique taste.

We firm up each client’s budget at the time design is finalised, so there are no hidden surprises along the way. From the time we receive your building permit it’s only 12 weeks until your new addition is finished and on its way to your site. And of course we have due diligence beforehand to make sure that your site preparations and your home is completed and delivered at the same time to ensure minimal disruption to your lifestyle – and of course saving you money in time out of home.

If you have no desire to dip your foot back into the Melbourne housing market, a Modscape extension or modular home might just be the best solution for you and your family.
