Modular display suite by Modscape

As the largest prefabricated display suite in Victoria, the Windermere display suite in Mambourin succeeds on making an ambitious statement.

Property developers, Risland Australia, engaged Modscape and DKO Architecture to design and construct a sales gallery that would reflect the design intent, ideals, vision and over-arching scale of the future development.

The result is the largest prefabricated sales gallery in Victoria – boasting over 500 square metres of space and 5.5 metre high ceilings. The 24 modules were constructed off-site in 12 weeks with a further four weeks required onsite post-installation.

Set amongst 50 hectares of recreation areas, natural creek reserve and wetlands, the display showcases the public amenity on offer at Windermere through touch-screen technology, a theatre room, a scale model, oversized plans and gallery-style imagery.

Future purchasers are welcomed into a grand double-height entrance space featuring a green wall and reception foyer. With floor-to-ceiling glazing opening up to the landscaped garden and pool beyond, the sales gallery is filled with natural light and draws the outside-in.

To prolong their investment and extend the life of their display suite once all is sold, Risland Australia briefed the team to design with an eye to the future and consider how the structure could grow, evolve and adapt. The result was guided by the flexibility in the modular design, which will enable the building to become a community space with a café and multipurpose spaces utilised by local community groups.
