Following the devastating February and March 2022 floods in Northern Rivers, Modscape + Modbotics, in collaboration with ADCO and Pedavoli Architects, delivered innovative flood-resilient school infrastructure for School Infrastructure NSW. Broadwater Public School stands as one of six new modular schools designed to withstand future climate challenges while serving the local community.

Built using 23 volumetric modules and 9 pop-up roof modules, Broadwater Public School showcases how Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) deliver resilient educational spaces quickly and safely. This offsite manufacturing approach enabled rapid deployment while maintaining high-quality standards, allowing the Northern Rivers community to return to normal routines with minimal disruption.

The elevated school design incorporates smart flood mitigation strategies including raised building platforms above flood levels, undercroft areas providing dual-purpose flood protection and play space, and climate-resilient construction methods ensuring long-term durability.
