The home’s elegant form, defined by its steeply pitched roof and classic proportions, pays homage to the region’s heritage while integrating modern efficiencies in construction and sustainability. Its façade, a sophisticated blend of timber cladding and expansive glazing, establishes a warm and welcoming presence within the landscape, framing picturesque views of the rolling countryside.

Built in just 12 weeks within the controlled environment of the Modscape factory and installed on-site in a single day, this project exemplifies the speed, precision, and sustainability of modular construction. To ensure a seamless fit within its surroundings, the distinctive roof structure was assembled on location – a design decision that balanced efficient transport with a commitment to architectural authenticity. The interior continues this thoughtful approach, offering a refined palette of natural materials, high ceilings, and abundant natural light to create a sense of spaciousness and comfort.

Functionality and flexibility were key considerations, resulting in a layout that balances private retreat spaces with open, light-filled living areas designed for connection and relaxation. A carefully curated selection of finishes enhances the home’s timeless appeal, with timber detailing, soft textiles, and contemporary fixtures working in harmony to evoke a sense of understated luxury. Energy efficiency is embedded throughout, with passive design principles, high-performance glazing, and sustainable material selections ensuring longevity and comfort in all seasons.

Now available for short-term stays at Open Country Homestead, this beautifully crafted home invites guests to experience the best of modular living—where architectural excellence meets the natural beauty of the Southern Highlands. Whether for a weekend escape or an extended retreat, the residence offers a tranquil sanctuary that effortlessly bridges past and present, tradition and innovation.
